This weekend Steve and I had a fantastic restaurant find at the Rock House Eatery in breathtaking Guntersville Lake, Alabama.
Guntersville Lake is located in North Alabama an hour drive from our hometown Chattanooga, TN. It’s a wonderful place to get away and relax. Take in the fantastic scenery and enjoy some good food.
The Rock House Eatery is just as its name describes. You feel like your literally eating in someone’s home. The first thing I noticed was the way we were greeted as we started to walk up to the front door. I felt like I was being greeted by a long time friend. We were offered an outside or inside table, being that its July in the south, outside did not seem as welcomed an option, I’m sure if we visit again in the spring or fall, outside would be amazing. Especially in the evening. The entire outside area is lite up in twinkling white lighting and would be an absolutely romantic place to dine.
We did not have reservations so we did have a short wait, but found a great group of people sitting at the bar. I can’t say enough good things about the staff. The bartender was engaging and informative about drink options. I stuck with the special of a Mimosa and Steve with his usual beer. After ordering I could not help but notice the Bloody Mary leaving the bar. It looked amazing and even topped with bacon. I know what I’ll be trying on my next visit.
After a few afternoon drinks it was time for the main course. This was comfort food at its finest. The menu had lots of options to fit anyone’s taste. I was told all the greens were locally grown and this was obvious in the taste. The staff was friendly and seemed to truly appreciate our business. Everything from the drinks, food and atmosphere made this one of the highlights of our trip to Guntersville Lake.
The Rock House Eatery is open:
Lunch Tuesday through Sunday 10:30am-2pm
Dinner -Wednesday through Saturday 5-9pm
1201 Gunter Ave | Guntersville, Al 35976 | Tel: 256.505.4699
Definitely make reservations a couple days before your planning on visiting. This establishment gets very busy and table space was limited. I was told that the management does hold some tables for walk ins, but no sense in waiting if you don’t have to. Happy eating and hope you get to visit the Rock House Eatery.
