Under a canopy of trees and lights awaits an incredible dining experience, Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida.
As Steve and I explored this amazing travel destination we found this delightful restaurant. We were lured in by the smell of the food and it’s charming courtyard. Entering under an archway of ivy and trees you will be welcomed to the outside eating area. Indoor seating is also available and is equally as inviting. We always choose outdoor seating if the weather is nice. It was hot the day we visited, but the courtyard is well shaded and the view of St. Augustine was spectacular. We were dressed casually since we had been exploring the town much of the day. The day we visited there was entertainment that enhanced the experience, instead of overpowering it. Nothing bothers me more than when I’m out to eat and the music is so loud that I can’t enjoy conversation with my husband.
Our dinner started off with drinks. Steve indulged by getting a Hurricane and I ordered a Pomegranate Martini. The service was impeccable and our waitress was very accommodating. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and was happy to answer any questions we had. We spent some time just enjoying our drinks and the overall atmosphere of Harry’s. The menu was eclectic and would have something for everyone’s taste so it took some time to finally decide. I highly recommend ordering the Bacon Wrapped Scallops- citrus glazed on mini grit cakes with tasso ham cream sauce. The citrus glaze gave a sweetness to the scallops that was absolutely delicious. If you visit Harry’s this is a must have appetizer.
Then it was on to the main course… I chose Harry’s Signature Crab Cakes- pan seared served with roasted red pepper aioli and the mixed vegetables. I was amazing by how much food I received. My dinner came with three crab cakes. The crab cakes were fresh, well seasoned and delectable. Steve chose the grilled Mahi sandwich paired with Nola rice. He seemed to enjoy every bite. Steve and I consider ourselves food snobs meaning that we know good food when we taste it and this was GOOD FOOD..
In St. Augustine you will find a wide variety of eating establishments. We visit St Augustine regularly, since we have a second residence not far away in Jacksonville Beach. Out of all the eating establishments we have tried this is the first one that I just had to blog about. The prices are reasonable considering the quality and quantity of the food. It’s centrally located right across the street from the Castillo De San Marcos. The atmosphere of Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille is exquisite and inviting.
