Something special happened on our way to Jekyll Island, GA. Steve and I discovered a lovely hidden gem located in Jacksonville, Florida by the name of Little Talbot Island State Park.
Little Talbot Island feels like old Florida before the high-rise condos and store fronts lined the blocks of beaches. Lustrous beauty is enhanced by the sounds of birds and wildlife. Waves crashing against the shoreline create an awareness to all God has created.
Feel a soft sand underneath your feet as you venture down five miles of coastline. Along your journey you will find ocean treasures both small and full of grandeur washed up on the shoreline. We took our time to find the most precious of seashells and took fantastic photos of the large white trees that had long ago washed up onto the shore.
The amenities found on Little Talbot Island, Florida add to the tranquility of the area instead of detracting from it. Rustic covered picnic areas perfect for a packed lunch or a game of cards provide the perfect family atmosphere.
What I loved the most about Little Talbot Island State Park in Jacksonville, Florida was the quietness of this heavenly beach. The feeling that I had been transformed back into time, where nothing detracts from the stunning views of the sea. A destination where all you need is a beach chair and a cold drink. Admission into this Florida State Park is only five dollars for the day.
So what did Kathy Brown find on this excursion? I found that while I still love to be pampered on my travels, I also love the more laid back feeling of a simpler time and space. That the world we live in has some places where the scenery is the star of the show. We are just mere bystanders to its glory.
