The best comfort food in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee is at The Old Mill Restaurant. This Restaurant was recommended to me by my Mom and so I just had to check it out. Once again my Mom was right. I would have never noticed this restaurant had I not been told about it. The Old Mill is located off the main road, but still close to everything.
The menu is full of comfort food just the way Mom used to make it. Southern food at its finest. Better than that the prices are amazing. Lunch specials are $11.99 and include fantastic dishes with all the fixing included in the price. More food than any one person could eat, so bring a big appetite.
Arrive early because this establishment gets very busy. Lunch service began at 11am, so we arrived at 10:30am to ensure our names were on the list. We were seated at 11:15. From the information I received on their website it’s not uncommon to wait up to 90 minutes. If you do find yourself having to wait, don’t worry there are plenty of shops to visit. The location of The Old Mill Restaurant is great and there are some spectacular specialty shops all around. You can easily spend hours looking at all the beautiful stores. Bring some extra money, because you’ll find items here that you can’t find anywhere else.
For lunch I ordered the turkey and dressing plate. The turkey was mouthwatering and the sides delectable. Steve ordered meatloaf with all the fixings. Our waiter, Mickie, told us that the dinner portions would have been twice the size of the lunch portions. There’s no way we could have eaten that much food. If you visit for dinner you may want to split a plate. He also told us about their pecan pies that are a specialty of this establishment. We were just too full for desert, but will save some room the next time we visit.
So if it’s comfort food you crave and you’re in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee don’t let The Old Mill restaurant pass you by. If you have visited please comment and let me know if you agree.
