I’m adding something new to Finding Kathy Brown. Everyone who knows me is aware of my love of cats and kittens. Not only are they absolutely adorable, but they provide so much writing material. These aloof creatures have personalities all their own whether playful, funny, loving or just plain trouble makers. With that being said I have chosen an unusual story to share with you today, but one worth debating. No hate mail please…
A cat lover my whole life I just can’t image a home without a little lovable fluff ball to keep me company. The characteristics of a cats personality makes you either love or hate them. The real question I have started to ask myself is… does my cat love me? Is my cat the devil in disguise?
My cat loves to snuggle at night. She will cuddle as close to me as possible and even some evenings I awake to my ever present guardian watching just to make sure I am safe…. Or wait is it something more sinister?
My husband was having a conversation with a medical examiner. I know it sounds odd, but it’s part of his job sometimes. While on a discussion about bugs of all things, the medical examiner offers an observation, “the only thing that will eat a dead body quicker than bugs is a cat.” What did he say? This awful image of my sweet adorable cat came to mind. Is she really cuddling with me and watching over me, or is she simply checking my every breath. Am I her next meal? This story of my ever faithful loving fur ball couldn’t possible be true.
This story raised my suspicions and had me questioning my little kitty’s every move. I started to ask other people if their cats watched them sleep at night and laid close to their chest while appearing to catch every breath. The overwhelming consensus of my friends was yes. I have encountered many a heated debate over this unusual cat story. I have decided to disregard this story as an untruth, but I sometimes wonder….
