When considering what to do in San Antonio, there is one must-see attraction. Visit the downtown RiverWalk for 15 miles of fun things to do.   Most importantly the 7 miles downtown feature great places to eat, bars, and shops.

Night-time on the River Walk is a party atmosphere.  For those who enjoy a drink, or two, or three, you can drink outside. Be careful though, not much stands in the way of your drunk self falling in the water!

2. Alamo: Free History Fix:

The Alamo is a symbol of Texas’ fight for independence from Mexican rule.  Visitors are drawn to its historical importance as the site of the famous Battle of the Alamo in 1836.

Most tourists find the Alamo smaller than what they imagined in their minds.  Or at least I did.  The great things about the Alamo are the tour is free and also family-friendly.   With so much of San Antonio’s history tied to this top attraction, the Alamo is a must-visit.

Brackenridge Park is a little-known 343-acre park perfect for families.  Explore scenic trails, try your hand at mini-golf, or simply unwind by the river.  Don’t be surprised if you come across some friendly turtles basking in the sun!

When it comes to downtown things to do after dark in San Antonio, Texas the Cathedral Show is most popular.   San Antonio’s history comes alive with the breathtaking light show projected onto San Fernando Cathedral.
