The midsize city of Huntsville is located in the Northern portion of the US State of Alabama and is nicknamed Rocket City due to its rich history in space exploration. Therefore many popular sights incorporate space travel and military themes.
Most visitors of Huntsville will be traveling on business, road trips, or as a stop-through to another southern destination. Listed below are some of the best things to do in Huntsville, Alabama for couples, adults, and family travel.

The Huntsville Botanical Garden is a stunning 112-acre oasis located in Huntsville, Alabama. The Botanical Gardens features a range of gardens. All the attractions found on the grounds showcase the beauty of nature. Ticket prices are affordable for most at $19. Spring is my favorite time to visit with the biggest blooms and comfortable temperatures.Â

Monte Sano Park, Alabama is a beautiful 2,140-acre park located on top of Monte Sano Mountain. Visitors to this top Alabama park can expect lovely outdoor spaces. Active tourists will love the numerous recreational activities such as biking, hiking, picnic areas, and playgrounds for the kids. Monte Sano State Park does charge a $5 fee for access, but I find it worth the cost.
4. Von Braun Center

Named after the famous German rocket scientist Wernher von Braun, this center serves as a hub for concerts, sporting events, conferences, and more. Personal Story Time: My Father was stationed in Huntsville, Alabama. He often told the story of how he denied Army Base entry to Wernher Von Braun. Needless to say, that did not go very well for him. His story did make for good conversation over the years. How I miss those stories now.
