Never knowing until several years ago how a man is supposed to treat a woman, I look at my now husband in amazement. Until I met a good man, I thought my previous relationship was healthy. It’s with my new perspective on love, that I share today’s article. How a man is supposed to treat a woman is my observations or little signs that tell you a relationship is healthy.
— Knowing Your Worth My Story - Knowing How to Spot a Good Man:
My story today is about the traits my husband exhibits for no other reason than his love for me. These are the traits of a GOOD-MAN who will treat a woman like a queen. Adjust your crowns, ladies; it’s time we expect no less.
A Good Man Shows RESPECT
Without RESPECT, everything else will crumble in your relationship. Does your spouse treat you as an equal? A good man will ask for your advice. He will include you in important decisions. Listen to your concerns and value your opinion. Real men will thank you for the things you do and acknowledge your contributions to the household
HONESTY Is Never In Question:
Honesty is the foundation of a loving relationship. A good man does NOT keep secrets from you. You will have an open dialog about feelings and never keep even the smallest of secrets. Life with a man of value means you never question his loyalty. You establish ways of communicating with honesty and respect.
ACCEPTS YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE:
He will accept all aspects of you, including your flaws. Your life partner should never want to change your core traits. In your marriage you are unique, and the person his heart fell in love with. Therefore he should love the person you are. A real man doesn’t keep you jumping through hoops to get his attention. You are enough, just the way you are.
How to Treat a Woman - WALKS NEXT TO YOU:
This one may not make sense at first, but if you are walking down the street, is your spouse next to you? He should NOT be ten feet ahead of you like you don’t even exist. Red Flag! When thinking about the little things and how a man treats a woman, look for small traits. Big and flashy displays of affection do not always add up to what is most important. Women in relationships should look for small clues to a true man’s intention.
LITTLE THINGS TO MAKE YOU HAPPY
Women should ask themselves, does he make daily small gestures to make you happy? Nothing flashy, just acts that show he values and protects you. My husband, to this day, will randomly reach for me in the middle of the night. It’s like he’s checking to make sure I’m still there next to him. Most days he will bring me my coffee in the morning if he gets up first. A man in love may send cute text messages throughout the day, just to let his woman know he is thinking of her.
Should Not Delight In Your Tears
A good man understands that tears should not bring delight or a sense of superiority. Instead, he seeks to witness tears of joy rather than sorrow or betrayal. When you find yourself shedding tears, he will offer comforting support, recognizing that he is not the cause of your distress, and will be the first to gently wipe them away.
Social Media Respect
Ladies it is never a good sign if you or your man are talking negatively about each other on Social Media. Whether it is Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok, you should have a privacy right in your relationship. Relationship rights reserved to be kind to one another. A good man will not embarrass you, belittle you, or talk badly of you in the presence of others. A good man in a relationship will come to you with concerns and questions, not social media. Facebook Twitter is no place to air your dirty laundry.
