How to Find Little Talbot Island Beach

From downtown Jacksonville, take Heckscher Drive north for about 15 miles. The park entrance will be on your right.

Once you enter the park, you will see a ranger station where you can pay the admission fee and get information about the park.

The beach is located at the end of the main road in the park.

Swimming at Little Talbot Island State Park:

Swimming in the Atlantic Ocean is permitted on Little Talbot Island.  Important to note, that lifeguards are not present.

Swimming is restricted in the area of the Fort George River inlet and tourists should take note of any signs of restrictions.

Entry into the Northeast Florida Talbot Park allows guests to walk short nature trails and for hikers, there is also a 4-mile trail.   See the maps provided upon entry to the park.

Hours to visit the Florida State Park of Little Talbot are 8am to Sunset and the boat ramp is open 24 hours a day. 

Travel Tip:  Little Talbot Island does not allow pets.  For those traveling with dogs, consider other beaches, such as Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
