Something about the people of Macon makes this one of the best holiday events. Everyone was so thoughtful, helpful, and downright friendly.
The City of Macon created a small-town American feel, even though the city itself is fairly large. At one stop along the way, locals had a smores station set up with a free smores kit, complete with marshmallows, chocolate, graham crackers, and fire for roasting. I might add, all free of charge.
One hundred thousand times worth the visit to see the holiday lights in downtown Macon. I strongly encourage those traveling from out of town to plan an entire weekend in Macon. There is so much to see and do that we are already plotting out our next visit.
If this annual Macon, GA event does not put you in a Christmas mood, then you must be a Grinch.
