Chattanooga, Tennessee is filled with family-friendly hidden gems. The Chattanooga Carousel is one of those treasures waiting to be found.

Finding The Coolidge Park Chattanooga Carousel

The merry-go-round, also known as the carousel, is located in Coolidge Park in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is situated near the North Shore end of the Walnut Street Bridge.

The Coolidge Park Carousel is located on the Northshore side of the pedestrian bridge.  As you walk from the Hunter Museum over the Tennessee River, the carousel building is seen to the left.  Visitors can’t miss the horse adorned on the top of the structure.  When planning your vacation travel to this scenic city, place Coolidge Park as one of the best things to do.  The main attractions of Coolidge Park include the old-fashioned merry-go-round, splash pads, live community events, wide open green spaces, and beautiful views of downtown.

History of the Coolidge Park carousel:

Originally crafted in 1894, the carousel now located in Chattanooga was once in disrepair.  The neglected piece of art was completely reworked and brought back to life by the Bud Ellis team.  After its remarkable resurrection, the whimsical merry-go-round found its permanent home on the grounds of Coolidge Park in the 1980’s.

How much does a ride on the Chattanooga merry go round cost:

Family fun doesn’t need to break the bank and I doubt you will find a better value anywhere.

You won’t believe the cost for a 4-minute ride is still one dollar.

You read this correctly, $1.00 per person. Kids and adults will love to ride on one of the beautifully carved animals of the carousel.

Carousel Hours of OPERATION can vary by season:

Current Hours of The Coolidge Park Carousel:
