The merry-go-round, also known as the carousel, is located in Coolidge Park in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is situated near the North Shore end of the Walnut Street Bridge.
The Coolidge Park Carousel is located on the Northshore side of the pedestrian bridge. As you walk from the Hunter Museum over the Tennessee River, the carousel building is seen to the left. Originally crafted in 1894, the carousel now located in Chattanooga was once in disrepair. The neglected piece of art was completely reworked and brought back to life by the Bud Ellis team. After its remarkable resurrection, the whimsical merry-go-round found its permanent home on the grounds of Coolidge Park in the 1980’s.
