SeaWorld San Antonio is home to four species of dolphins: Atlantic bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops truncatus): These are the most common species of dolphin in captivity and are known for their intelligence and playful nature. Pacific white-sided dolphins (Lagenorhynchus obliquidens): These dolphins are known for their acrobatic leaps and are often seen performing tricks at SeaWorld shows. Beluga whales (Delphinapterus leucas): These are the largest species of dolphin in captivity and are known for their white color and their vocalizations. Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins (Tursiops aduncus): These dolphins are native to the Indo-Pacific region and are known for their long, slender bodies. Habitat The dolphins at SeaWorld San Antonio live in several different habitats, including: Dolphin Lagoon: This large lagoon is home to a pod of Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and is one of the most popular attractions at the park. Beluga Stadium: This stadium is home to a pod of beluga whales and is the site of the park's beluga show. Discovery Point: This area of the park is home to several species of dolphins, including Pacific white-sided dolphins and Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins. Diet The dolphins at SeaWorld San Antonio are fed a diet of fish, squid, and other marine animals. The park's nutritionists carefully monitor the dolphins' diets to ensure that they are getting all of the nutrients they need. Behaviors Dolphins are social animals that live in pods. They are known for their intelligence, playfulness, and acrobatic abilities. Conservation SeaWorld San Antonio is committed to the conservation of dolphins. The park participates in several dolphin conservation projects, including: Dolphin Research: The park's scientists conduct research on dolphins to help us better understand these animals and their threats. Dolphin Rehabilitation: The park's rehabilitation center rescues and rehabilitates injured or sick dolphins. Dolphin Education: The park's education programs teach guests about dolphins and their conservation. Viewing the Dolphins Guests can view the dolphins in their habitats from several different vantage points.
