Cummer Museum Art & Gardens

Are you interested in art and culture while visiting Jacksonville, Florida? If yes is your answer, plan an afternoon visit to the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens. Located on the bank of the St. Johns River, this museum is a must-visit. Not only will the adults find the exhibits interesting, but the kids will enjoy the visit too.  

It’s more than just a museum, my favorite reason to visit the Cummer is the art gardens, the Italian garden, and the Riverside Avenue Jacksonville location.  Guests will find so many fun things to do here. 

Full disclosure that as a travel blogger – No art expert here. Therefore my review is that of the average tourist without any real artistic knowledge. I found the Cummer Museum to be smaller than other large city art galleries. However, it was worth the cost of admission and was large enough for our enjoyment. Steve and I traveled on our most recent visit with our Grandchildren and they loved the trip to the museum of art – Cummer. Included below is a YouTube video the kids made and I thought it was worth a share. They get excited over every like received.

Kids will enjoy the wide-open spaces of the Cummer gardens, educational opportunities, and interesting art. Steve and I visited more for the perfectly attended gardens and outdoor attractions on the riverfront grounds. Cummer Museum is a great attraction to incorporate into any downtown Jacksonville getaway. Spend extra time in this Riverside area of Jax.
