Does The US State Of Virginia Have Casinos?
Imagine my excitement researching Bristol, Virginia, and realizing THEY HAVE A CASINO NOW!
Better yet, it’s conveniently located right off I-81. But wait, it’s not just slot machines, they also have table games, dining, sports betting, and martinis!
The property is referred to “Bristol Casino – The Future Home of Hard Rock.”
Once the full facility opens in 2024, they will officially be Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol!
It will include 300 hotel rooms, more slots and table games, 6 restaurants, and a Hard Rock Live concert venue – plus all the memorabilia that comes with the Hard Rock brand!
Open Now: Experience the Bristol Casino, Virginia
While we eagerly await the grand opening of the Hard Rock Resort in Spring 2024, the Bristol Casino is already in full swing.
For adult tourists traveling on North or South I-81, Bristol is the perfect stopping point on any road trip or as its own travel destination.
Be sure to read about all the best things to do in Bristol, VA & TN.
Gaming Experience:
The Bristol VA Casino floor boasts almost 900 of the most popular slot machines and 29 exciting table games. Moreover, we found a large variety of unique slot machines, ranging from traditional games to fully interactive screens.
However, the real excitement for us lies in Roulette. In addition, other gaming options include Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps, Mississippi Stud, Roulette, Three Card Poker, and Texas Holdem. So, pick your poison.
Entertainment and Rockin’ Vibes at Bristol Bar
Bristol Tennesee / Virginia is considered the birthplace of country music. That being said, The Bristol Bar located inside the casino is a great place to check out live entertainment.
Unfortunately, Steve and I were passing through on a random Tuesday, so we didn’t get to check out a show. However, knowing this is going to be converted into a Hard Rock, I’m sure the entertainment options will be great.
Hold onto your martinis because this casino is set to expand. As the Casino eventually converts to its iconic Hard Rock brand, it promises even more gaming, live entertainment, and glamour.
Smoke, Gamble, or Breath Fresh air:
Steve and I used to believe 3 things go together, smoking, drinking, and gambling. Now as a non-smoking couple, not so much.
Before we arrived I did check out online reviews where smoke was a factor for some guests. If this is a concern, don’t worry! The casino understands and provides a small non-smoking area where you can play in a more comfortable atmosphere.
I feel confident that those non-smoking areas will grow along with the Casino.
The Future Beckons: Hard Rock Resort on the Horizon
As you revel in the current offerings of The Bristol Casino, remember that the best is yet to come.
In Spring 2024, the temporary casino site will make way for the grandeur of the Hard Rock Resort.
Prepare yourself for a mind-blowing casino experience like no other, complete with luxurious accommodations, top-notch amenities, and a whole new level of excitement.
You can be sure that I will be back for the opening, where I’ll be updating you on all the changes. Trust me, I’ve seen the pictures of what the resort pool is going to look like, and I will be there.
Stay and Explore: Bristol’s Charming Downtown
While eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Hard Rock Resort, I recommend staying at the historic Bristol Hotel in downtown Bristol. This charming area showcases the city’s rich history and offers a delightful backdrop.
Take a stroll through charming small-town streets, explore unique boutiques, and soak in the local atmosphere.
Mr. Lucky’s Restaurant (review)
When hunger strikes after a thrilling day at the casino, there’s no better place to satisfy your cravings than Mr. Lucky’s.
Indulge in mouthwatering dishes that will leave you wanting more. From succulent prime rib to delectable salmon, Mr. Lucky’s has something to please every palate.
Travel Tip: Save room for dessert when dining at Mr. Lucky’s!
Where to stay, until the official Hard Rock Hotel opens in 2024?
We loved our accommodations at the historic Bristol Hotel, located downtown. Although it’s true, we can’t wait to book with the Hard Rock, I would stay at the Bristol Hotel again. An upcoming blog post for Bristol Hotel in Tennessee coming soon
Final Wrap-up for our Bristol Casino - future home of the Hard Rock review:
This travel blogger had a blast even if I didn’t win any money. We found gaming machines that were fun and plenty of table games.
Steve and I fell in love with everything the town of Bristol has to offer and found excellent accommodation at the Hotel Bristol downtown (a 5-minute drive to the casino)
The Bristol Casino is a work in progress. You can definitely see its full potential coming through as a first-class gaming facility.
The location is prime in the shadows of the Appalachian mountains and an easy drive off Interstate 81.
The staff was super friendly and overall a really fun place to hang out.
A non-smoking section is available and I’m sure will grow as the casino expands.
Even if we weren’t gambling, which would never happen, we would visit again to dine with Mr. Lucky. Who knows maybe next time we will get lucky and win a huge jackpot!
