Wondering how this Tennessee girl knows about Allentown, PA?  Easy, I used to live nearby and spent a lot of time exploring the Leigh Valley.

I’ll often fly into Allentown Airport to visit family and friends still in the area.

It’s for this reason I decided to put my favorite Allentown, Pennsylvania attractions and activities on the blog.

Where is Allentown, Pennsylvania

Allentown, Pennsylvania, is located in the eastern part of the state, in the Lehigh Valley region. The approximate distance from Allentown to major cities is as follows:

Philadelphia, PA: Allentown is about 60 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The travel time by car is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic and the specific locations within the cities.

New York City, NY: Allentown is approximately 95 miles  southwest of New York City. The travel time by car is around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions and the route taken.

1. Visit the Allentown Art Museum:

Located at 31 North Fifth Street, Allentown, PA, 18101, the Allentown Art Museum is a cultural gem. This popular Museum offer American and European art, exploring paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. Admission typically ranges from $12 to $15, with discounts for students and seniors. It’s a perfect spot for adults looking for a dose of artistic inspiration.

2. Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom:

Ah, the memories! Dorney Park, 3830 Dorney Park Rd, Allentown, PA 18104, is a fantastic family-friendly destination. While my kids were young, we always had an annual pass for the roller coasters, water rides, and live entertainment. Prices vary based on the day and season, but the smiles on your family’s faces? Absolutely priceless.

3. Wind Creek Casino

For those feeling lucky, Wind Creek Casino is your go-to spot at 77 Wind Creek Blvd, (nearby)  Bethlehem, PA 18015. Enjoy a world of gaming and entertainment. Costs vary based on your game of choice, but the thrill is priceless. A great spot for adults seeking excitement and maybe a bit of fortune!

4. SteelStacks:

One of the top places to visit in Allentown is SteelStacks, located at 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem, PA 18015. The venue hosts concerts, festivals, and cultural events. Costs vary depending on the event, but the fun atmosphere is worth every penny. A great spot for both families and adults!

5. Coca-Cola Park:

Sports enthusiasts, rejoice! Coca-Cola Park, 1050 IronPigs Way, Allentown, PA 18109, is home to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. Catch a minor league baseball game. Ticket prices start at around $10, making it an affordable and fun experience for all.

6. Allentown Symphony Orchestra:

Treat yourself to a symphonic experience at the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, often performing at Miller Symphony Hall, 23 N 6th St, Allentown, PA 18101. Ticket prices range from $25 to $70, offering a sophisticated evening for adults appreciating classical music.

Travel Tip:  Allentown LVI airport is small and flights are limited.  However, United Airlines offers shuttle bus service from larger airports like Newark, NJ.
